Ugh. I hate Kanye West. So. Much. And quite honestly, I don't see this as "poly lyrics." Those lyrics to me say "fuck who you want as long as I know." Poly isn't about just sleeping around. It's about actually loving people, not being a slut.
I just found this blog today and was rather excited about it. Until I read this. The fact that you're basically glorifying this song as poly friendly or whatever you would like to call it... is rather disheartening. Too bad.
There are some other poly-positive lyrics on this album too (Watch the Throne). Can't remember all of them, but I think there were 4 or 5 throughout. In one song, they rapper (can't remember which one) says he thinks the prince of England, instead of marrying Kate should have married "Mary-Kate and Ashley". In another song, there is a reference to a hot woman who is "our wife".
I was pretty impressed by it, personally. Poly can take a lot of forms, and having some rules about casual sex as part of it can be in the contract, if that's what the people in the relationship want. You write your own rules.
What I particularly liked about this album was how open and playful they were about it. The made it sound like a serious lifestyle choice, and a personal evolution, rather just the typical misogynistic "fuck all the bitches you can" kind of thing.
